Accessibility
Our Commitment
Parkinson's Market is built with the Parkinson’s community in mind, which means accessibility is not an afterthought. Many people with Parkinson's experience tremor, reduced hand dexterity, fatigue, and visual changes that affect how they interact with websites. We have designed Parkinson’s Market for those realities.
Our aim is to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards across our website and continue to test and improve against that benchmark.
Considerations
Motor and dexterity
- Large touch targets: buttons and interactive elements are sized for easier tapping and clicking, particularly on mobile
- No time-limited content: nothing expires or disappears before you've had time to read or interact with it
- Simple, consistent navigation: the same menu structure on every page, with no hidden interactions required to complete a purchase
Visual
- High-contrast CTAs: our primary action buttons meet WCAG AA contrast ratios
- Readable base font size: body text is set at a minimum of 16px
- Alt text on all product and banner images: every image has a descriptive alternative for screen readers
- Clear heading hierarchy: pages use a logical H1 → H2 → H3 structure for easy navigation
Motion and sensory
- Reduced motion support: animations and transitions are suppressed for users who have enabled "Reduce Motion" in their device settings
- No auto-playing video or audio
Assistive technology
- Screen reader compatible: tested with VoiceOver (iOS/macOS) and NVDA (Windows)
- Full keyboard navigation: all site functions are operable without a mouse
- Logical focus order: keyboard focus moves in a predictable, sequential order through the page
Known Limitations
We're a growing store and not everything is perfect yet. Known areas we're actively working on:
- Some third-party elements (reviews widget, forum embed) are provided by external platforms and may not fully meet our accessibility standards – we're working with those providers on improvements
- Product images sourced from suppliers may occasionally have incomplete alt text; we are auditing and correcting these progressively

Your review could help someone find a product that works for them
Finding products that work for everyday life with Parkinson’s can take time. A review from someone who has already tried a product can make that search easier and give others practical perspective from lived experience.
When you share what you chose, how you use it, and what you’ve learned, you offer details that may not appear in a product description. What felt useful? What took getting used to? What would you want someone else to know before deciding?
Every experience is personal, and what works well for one person may not suit another. Honest, specific reviews help people compare options with more confidence and set realistic expectations. They also help Parkinson’s Market understand what matters to the community as we curate products.
If you’ve bought or tried something here, we invite you to share your experience.
Your review may help someone else in their journey.
