Place the cushion on the seat with the non-slip base underneath - the base grips once weight is applied. The cover unzips and comes off for washing: machine wash the cover in cold water and hang to dry. Do not machine wash the cushion itself; wipe the surface with a damp cloth as needed. The 6" nylon strap is for carrying the cushion between seats, not for fastening it to a chair.
