Why we chose this

Long stretches sitting or standing can leave the lower back uncomfortable, and being able to wrap something on yourself - without waiting for a hand - makes a difference. We chose this one for the three curved splints: they press the gel pack into the arch of the lower back, which is exactly where a flat pack never quite stays. The two pull straps let you set the closeness of the fit by feel rather than committing to one fixed position, and the silicone lining stops the whole thing creeping down as you move. It’s the strap-adjusted counterpart to our Compression Back Ice Wrap - that one inflates with a hand pump and is kinder on the hands, while this one is slimmer, simpler, and has nothing to pump.

Good to know

  • This is the strap-tensioned version – the Vive Compression Back Ice Wrap does much the same job with an inflatable air chamber and hand pump, which many PwP find easier to set when hand strength or grip is limited.
  • Freeze the gel pack for at least two hours for cold; for warmth, heat it in short 5-second bursts, kneading and checking the temperature between each one.
  • Keep hot or cold sessions to around 15–20 minutes at a time, and keep a thin layer of fabric between the pack and bare skin.
  • Fasten the straps before washing — machine wash cold and hang dry, never tumble.

The Vive Back Ice Wrap holds an oversized gel pack against the lower back and lets you set how firmly it sits. The Arctic Flex gel pack stays flexible when frozen so it follows the shape of the back, and the same pack can be gently warmed if you’d rather have heat.

Two elastic tension straps pull across the front and fasten, so you set the closeness of the fit by feel rather than being stuck with one fixed position. Three curved splints sewn into the wrap press the gel pack into the arch of the lower back, holding it where you want it instead of letting it sit flat. Silicone strips line the inside so the wrap doesn’t slide or bunch as you move.

The wrap measures 48.5” x 8” and fits waists up to 42”, or up to 50” with the included 8” extender strap. It’s low profile enough to wear under loose clothing or over a slim fit. Includes the wrap, removable gel pack, and extender strap. Latex-free. Machine wash cold and hang dry, or spot clean with a damp cloth and air dry.

  • Oversized Arctic Flex gel pack (14.75” x 7.5”) works cold from the freezer or gently warmed
  • Dual elastic tension straps set the compression by feel and hold it there
  • Three curved splints press the gel pack into the arch of the lower back
  • Silicone-lined neoprene keeps the wrap from sliding or bunching as you move
